Founder of Cosmic Smash Burgers
When I launched Cosmic Smash Burgers in 2022, it was more than just the start of a food truck — it was the beginning of a dream to combine great food, local ingredients, and a creative theme into something the community could be proud of. What started as a single truck and a handful of events has quickly grown into a recognizable part of the North Iowa food scene. From day one, my goal was to bring people together over food that felt both familiar and exciting. By sourcing local beef, potatoes, and produce whenever possible, I wanted to make sure every meal not only tasted fresh, but also supported the farmers and families in our area. Along the way, the “cosmic” theme gave us a way to stand out — something fun that sparks smiles before people even take their first bite. Over the past few years, Cosmic Smash Burgers has rolled into countless community events, festivals, breweries, schools, and fundraisers. We’ve become part of birthday celebrations, date nights, family outings, and even block parties. Seeing familiar faces return and new ones join in is a reminder that food is more than a meal — it’s an experience and a connection. Looking ahead, I’m excited about the next stage of our journey. Cosmic Smash Burgers plans to expand by adding more trucks or opening a brick-and-mortar location to serve more people year-round, while continuing to create fresh, imaginative menu offerings that keep our farm-to-table values at the core. We also want to deepen our involvement with local fundraisers, schools, and community events, and explore spin-off ideas and playful concepts that keep the cosmic spirit alive. Cosmic Smash Burgers is still young, but the response we’ve had tells me that we’re building something with lasting power. Our mission is simple: serve food that makes people happy, support our local community, and keep reaching for the stars.
